White Water

Wild and pristine water is perceptible in all its forms everywhere in the Salzburger Saalachtal.  In the Saalach, athletes in their kajaks conquer some of the most demanding rapids in the world, while familes can enjoy an exciting canoe trip a little further up-river and then plunge into the crystal clear waters of the Vorderkaserklamm. Hikers discover water as a welcome refreshment in the many natural springs; bikers ride through puddles after a warm summer rain shower and everyone experiences it as the source of all life.

A Region for the Whole Family

The Salzburger Saalachtal, with its villages Lofer, Unken, St Martin and Weißbach, is situated in the heart of Pinzgau and the border triangle between Salzburg, Tyrol and Germany. The picturesque, unique villages, connected by the wild roaring Saalach, are all ideal starting points for outdoor adventures for every generation. The star actor here is nature, without doubt.

The forested hills and the peaks of the Loferer- and Leoganger Steinberge reward the effort of the ascent with fresh, pure air and breathtaking views. In the streams and gorges, the elemental forces of water can be experienced with all senses. There, where skiers glide about in winter, the most beautiful alm waits to be discovered and explored in the warm summer season. An adventure playground for the whole family!

Experience, Explore, Discover

Whether you are looking to conquer a particular summit; dicover the mountains on an e-bike; experience white water in all its forms or simply enjoy some time and adventures with the family in one of the most unspoiled paradises in the alps, the Salzburger Saalachtal and its people provide holidays which are what holidays really should be – the best days of the year.
